Lance,
If I'm reading you correctly, you have a dial-up adapter
and a newly installed NIC. Correct? If so, you don't
need "another" adapter for TCP/IP. The NIC (network
interface card) can be setup for TCP/IP and used for
direct ethernet connection.
What you need to do is, first, get a firewall. This can
be either a software firewall, an MN-700, or other
router. This will save you enormous amounts of grief.
Then, pull out/disable your dial-up adapter so you WinME
doesn't get confused.
Third, you need to be able to configure your NIC for
DHCP. The Qwest ADSL server is going to assign your PC a
dynamic IP. You need to setup your connection
for "Obtain IP address". Qwest may also give you the
addresses of its DNS servers. If so, you need to enter
these. If not, don't worry about it.
Did they give you a CD to help with configuration?
