i am running win.98 2nd edition i downloaded
directx9.obend.user runtime it messed up my network
sharing deleted and resetup networking card computer
freezes up when i delete tcip-ip for card in network
settings computer works fine but can't set up tcp-ip for
networking card.

You probably want to delete all networking components (start with Client for
MS Networks or any other client that's installed). Basically remove
everything under Control Panel/Networking, reboot, add the client and try
again.
