Hi

I have a laptop, running Windows 98SE and a PC running Windows XP Home. I
have just bought an eTEC XG-6050 Wireless ADSL Modem/Router.

It has been installed correctly. I can connect to the internet and browse
with my PC.

I have a TRENDnet TEW-421PC Wireless LAN PC Card (both Router/Modem and
PCCard are 802.11g Compliant)

I had my laptop working fine and could browse, although it did take some
time for my main page to appear. Once that happened, the speed was fine and
there where no issues.

However, someone I know fiddled around with the TCP/IP settings "To match my
ISP" and since then it has not worked. I do not know what to do next in
regard to these settings as I did not take a note of them before they where
changed.

My Route/Modem IP address is 192.168.0.1
My static IP address, provided as standard by my ISP, Freedom to Surf
(www.f2s.net) is 83.67.41.69
My Primary DNS is 194.106.56.6
My Secondary DNS is 194.106.33.42
My Default gateway is 255.255.255.0

Please can someone help me out with resolving this issue?

Thanks

Iain

The default gateway won't be 255.255.255.0 That's probably the subnet
mask.

The router will probably be running a dhcp server so change the tcp/ip
settings (on the win98 box) to receive an ip address automatically,
change the default gateway to 192.168.0.1 and remove any dns
information because this will be passed on from the router as part of
the dhcp service.

Jim.
