Hello,
since about two weeks, I experience a strange problem on a Windows
Server 2003 SP1 based Webserver (Apache HTTPD 2, Webrequests are handed
of to a small CGI-Process which in turn connect to a Java [BEA JRockit
based] Application-Server via TCP, fetches the response and returns it
to Apache).
The system connects to several MS SQL Servers and was running fine for a
couple of years.
About two weeks ago, we moved most of the web content from the local
disks to a Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 SP2 share in preparation of
adding additional webservers within the next months.
One day after moving those files, the Webserver began suddenly to reset
all TCP-connections (TCP RST flag set in the pakets) to the SQL servers,
between the CGI-processes and the application server and also when
trying to open HTTP-connections from the webserver (starting IE and
trying to open any webpage) and probably any other kind of TCP-connection.
This phenomenon lasts for 2 to 40 minutes and then - suddenly - the
system again works normal. If we reboot the server as soon as the
problem occurs, it works again right after the reboot. There are no
messages in the event log concerning this problem.
Does anyone have an idea, what might cause or - better - fix this problem?
