Check out the example directory of most C distros; Also search
google....

There are numerous examples and a simple client-server application or
tcp-chat application is very very straightforward.

Things get not-so-straightforward when you start thinking about
security, but again, numerous public-key encryption components are
freely available. None springs to mind, but I bet you can find them
among all the internet junk within 10 minutes.

Look for things like TCP Chat and winsock on freshmeat and sourceforge.
