Hi,

I've switched to TalkTalk and am quite happy so far, except that I
can't find any usenet settings and suspect they don't have a News
server (Ouch! I might not have switched if I'd known).

Can anyone confirm there is no usenet server, and can anyone suggest a
good server I can use as an alternative?

Again, I'm on TalkTalk and I've not been able to find any News servers -
although I did once find an article online talking about how they'd given up
with them after they proved disastrous - or something...

I pay for Newshosting.com, but http://www.teranews.com/ used to be very good
(when I last used them) - they're free, after you've paid the one-off $3.95
signup fee and you get 50mb usage a day, ample if you're not "doing"
binaries.

They used to have a usenet server, but it kept falling over, a couple of
years back they decided not to bother fixing it.

For text only there's:

news.albasani.net

and

news.motzarella.org

Both free, and have good spam filters, are reliable and no ads.
