I just had someone come to the door saying it was about "the
telephone exchange upgrade" and that he needed to know whether I
was on BT or Virgin Cable. I asked who he was and he showed a
previously concealed TalkTalk / Carphone Warehouse badge.
As I had just got out of the bath I shut the door at this point, but
I'm sure many people would have had the impression that he actually
had something to do with their phone line, and given him whatever
information he asked for.
