I realise I'll get no sympathy !

But I migrated to Talktalk £10 per month service at the beginning of the
week. (plus transferred to Talktalk line rental) my exchange is not
unbundled.
I had been on a 512k offering with Talktalk for over a year without any
problem (except the news server kept dying).

Now my voip phone can't connect to sipgate server anymore, and I can't
access sipgate .co.uk / .com etc.

Anyone know if Talktalk are blooking sipgate sites ?
(checked the site is OK with other broadband providers)

Regards
Colin

try reloading the software for your modem, I have to reload so as I can
reinput the password, happens about once a month, when with no warning
they decide to reset the passwords.

Can you get to their site using the IP address 217.10.79.28 ?

Can you ping the IP address 217.10.79.28 ?

Hi,
I get the following error -
Fatal error: Failed opening required
'/var/www/sipgate.co.uk/serweb/html/lang/de/main.php'
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/local/share/php') in
/var/www/sipgate.co.uk/serweb/html/user_interface/lang_objects.php on line
17

Ping test results -
--- 217.10.79.28 ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 60.0/66.6/70.0 ms

Oh and I tried loading Talktalk software onto a clean PC and the original
USB modem - same results (no sipgate sites)

I get this too when using the IP address - (I'm on Zen) it's likely due
to some virtual hosting setup.

Throw it away, get an Ethernet based router and dump their s/w from your
PC, as you don't need it.

News server? I didn't know that TalkTalk had one. What is it called?

(I am trying to post this via Google Groups but don't know if it will
be threaded properly)

Are TalkTalk the people owned by carphone warehouse who also own Onetel? If
so, don't expect much e-mail service either. Onetel's inbound e-mail
servers are so bad (fail to handle load at peak times resulting in
non-delivery of e-mails) that I no longer use them. This after I managed to
get some improvement after writing to their then CEO! I'd recommend using
Googlemail instead as they have SMTP and POP3 access and free accounts.

Onetel's DNS also seems to a little flakey at times but a refresh normally
gets to the required page at the second attempt.

You could do worse than consider www.news.astraweb.com which has had a
deal on for 90 GB of traffic for US$ 25 (under 15 quid?) with no time
limit for use (so it won't run out after 6 months) and would work on
most any ISP even if you switched from TalkTalk, without changing a
newsreader's settings one jot. Depends on how much you want from
usenet news, of course, as to whether it is worthwhile.

It was fine, and good to see someone managed quoting properly, too :-)
