Hi

A friend of mine has got talktalk and the activation date on his line
was 26th sept.

Yesterday i went round to help him set it up using the CD but it only gets
as far as confirming connection to the modem. Connection to network/talktalk
fail.

Tried phoning talktalk for hours but can't get through.

could it be because his phone line in his house splits into 3, therefore
there is no 'master' ?

darren

There has to be a master point on a BT circuit - somewhere. What is
connected to the three individual sockets?

They just told me to setup the connection manually insteading telling my
speedtouch modem to dial 08452231020 instead.

surely this is bloody dialup 56k?? are they having a laugh or what

nope as a USB DSL modem doesn't actually dial any numbers, what may be
more useful for you is to put 0,38 in the number field as it tweaks
the modems parameters slightly
