Hi,

Well I was perswaded (sp?) to switch to TT during January (around the
16th), anyway my welcome pack and router duly arrived and I was
expecting a short period of downtime today, 2nd Feb, while it was all
sorted out.

My "Go Live day" was today, 2nd Feb and obviousley I expected problems
due to the weather.

Anway, my Land-line is still working, Pheeew!!! but reluclant to use
it incase BT charge me. My broadband though is another matter.

I have a ADSL signal, according to the router but any attempt to
connect fails misrably, so I suspect my previous ISP has cut me off
but my new one (Talk Talk) won'y auth me???

Is there anyway to tell whose ADSL signal it is?

The other thing is I have just come to the end of a Option 3 contract
with BT, with this delay?? will I have to start another?

Can I blame the weather, after all my broadbands gone off, someone
must have disconetted (sp)? that right?

I would appciate (sp?) any assistance, im sorry for the bad spelling
ect, im not good at that at the best of times but at lease I hope I've
myself clear.

BTW I'm connecting VIA my Orange Nokia 5200/Bluetooth at this moment
in time (very slow though with Windows 2000 though!!) :-)

Hope all is well with you,

Cheers,

John.

The router they sent me for this connection is a Huawei HG520B, but I
have used the D-Link router from my Mums, but of couse I have
reconfigured it (i.e. username (E-Mail Removed)) and password
from my welcome pack.

It worked for my Plusnet connection until today (I set it up with my
Plusnet details when I received it) .

Indeed, I can do that, It's a DLINK 2640R.

Bloody right there! I can't even register for there forums without a
working account.

The bloke I spoke to at 19:54 said it would work by 20:00, it didn't!
I cannot contact them now as they are closed. BT are no help so I am
in "no mans land".

Thank god for my Nokia 5200 on Orange (I hate to know what it is
costing me though! - prob about £10 already tonight!!! )

Thanks for your advice though and take care.

Cheers

John.

Not that it helps but I have been trying to connect (on &
off) since late November. So far I have spent over 10 hours
on their support line going over and over again with their
procedures ending up with ADSL sync but no User/PS
authentication. I swopped Routers, Checked the computer on
another activated line to make sure the problem was up the
line. So IF you get this resolved please post your result.
I'm waiting with considerable interest.

Best

And there have been many people here since TT came into being
advising others not to touch with a barge pole .

Bad idea, let us know his name so we can pillory him first, track down
other victims, torture him a little and then shoot him.

Remember, crucifixion's too good for 'em.

Or cannot read !.
It is everyone to his/her own George but having strayed from BT once
regarding a fixed line service I will never stray again.

Hi,

IM sorry your suffering and I know how it feels (:-

Anyway after about 15 calls or so to their 0870 number, 0870 444 1820
(luckily free as I was still on BT) I got it sorted, I threaned to cancel
there and then and half an hour later things started to happen (phone went
totally dead ect). By late afternoon I was on (BB & phone). D/L speed lower
then my previous ISP but U/L a *LOT* higher. Router reports ADSL2 Plus and
everything seems faster as well. On the Voice side I was suprised to find
Caller ID actually works as it should. Only thing is, some outgoing calls
(to mobiles) display "Withheld".

Anyway, hope you get it sorted and I am interested as to when ect so feel
free to email me: (E-Mail Removed)

Finally I should mention they do have a good forum but I can't seem to
register (Phone number / account number mismatch). See if you have better
luck.

All the best.

John.
