Can you ping the server by name and get replies?
Are you logging in with an account that has local administrative access? Does the server and do all workstations point only to the internal DNS server's IP address (i.e., no internet DNS servers) with forwarders set up in the DNS server itself to your ISP's DNS servers? Hi
You can get this error message if the SRV records are creating on the DNS server for the domain, or the client is not configured to use the DNS server for the domain. 816106 How to Verify an Active Directory Installation in Windows Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/?id=816106 Remember the XP clients have to be configured to use the SBS Server for DNS. The default for SBS is to install DHCP and configure it to do so, but I'm not sure if your client is a DHCP client or not.
