Default Printing on Custom Local Port

Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong. I had to rebuild my machine and before I did the rebuild. I was able to make a custom port to print from. The printer has its own IP address and I created a custom port and was able to print. However since I rebuilt the machine using the same operating system (Windows Server 2003, EE) I created the custom local port as before and it will not print, not even a test page. Howevere I have it set right now to use http://000.000.000.00 for printing and it works fine, but I would rather have it the old way from a local port. Of course the http:// above I put zero's in to show and example, but have it set to the correct IP address. ANy suggestions would be useful.

Thanks,
