i have a win 2003 server (domain1) at Head Office and a
win 2000 server at a branch(domain2) i find that i am unable to set a trust relation between these domain controllers. they are not able to locate each other across the routers. ping from one to the other is successful. find computer (with ip address) is also ok. find with computer name is not ok. When i moved the win 2000 to HO the trust was ok. Achat |

This is probably a DNS problem. The servers need to be able to contact
each other using ldap and the special names for domain controllers (SRV records). How do you resolve DNS names across the link? The most reliable method is to make each DNS server a secondary for the other. Names in the "other" site can then be resolved locally, as each DNS server has a copy of the "other" server's zone records.
