Is there anything special that you have to do with Active Directory? I have a similar situation. The existing domain is an NT 4.0 Server with WINXP, WIN2K and WIN98 clients accessing. I am adding a new server WIN2003 to this domain. I do not have Active Directory running as yet. I can talk from WIN2003 Server and WIN NT 4.0 Server but the clients cannot access the WIN2003 Server. Any ideas? What's ironic is that the WIN2003 Server is functioning as the DHCP / DNS and WINS server for the DOmain. Please advise... >-----Original Message----- >Hi, > >this should work fine with no problems. > >Thanks, >Marc Reynolds >Microsoft Technical Support > >This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. >-------------------- >>From: "David Lundell" <(E-Mail Removed)> >>Subject: WinServer 2003 as a Member server in NT 4 domain >>Date: Tue, 18 Nov 2003 21:55:55 -0700 >>Lines: 7 >>X-Priority: 3 >>X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >>X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.50.4807.1700 >>X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.50.4910.0300 >>Message-ID: <(E-Mail Removed)> >>Newsgroups: >microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory, microsoft ..public.windows.se >rver.general,microsoft.public.windows.server.netw orking,mi crosoft.public.win >dows.server.setup >>NNTP-Posting-Host: ip68-2-107-46.ph.ph.cox.net 68.2.107.46 >>Path: cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl!TK2MSFTNGP08.phx.gbl!
