Hello all: I'm connecting 4 houses to a satellite broadband feed thru a
D-Link DI 604. The cable runs will be 275ft, 190ft, 170ft, 120ft. Cable is cat5e flooded. Will this setup work ok? winternals2006@yahoo.com |

CAT5E cable length between switch and nic is 100 meters max, but I'm not sure you can take that as a guarantee of success. It will probably work. But...are you running these cables between buildings (ie: not common-wall) or just running it through a single common building? If the former, have you considered going wireless with directional antennae? It could be preferable to stringing an aerial/lightning-attractor connected to your network... |
