Ask yourself, if you got an e-mail telling you your computer is running
slow because of 'Windows Registry Errors' how did the sender know? As others have pointed out there are many things - not just in the registry - that can slow things down so how would an outsider know or be able to tell? This is a scam - as is anything that you receive unexpectedly - and should be avoided like the plague. If you deliberately go to the site of a good provider - the likes of PCTools etc - and their software after downloading tells you that you have problems then you may well have, but not from unsolicited mails. I would suggest that, having followed that route, you now get some good internet security software - such as Kaspersky - and check your machine. The 'tests' that you ran could have loaded trojans, key checkers, adware, spyware, all sorts of things. On top of which you will now likely get spammed to hell. -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com Woody |
