Hello all,
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true Default: 120 Range: 0-300 Next is this one: http://technet2.microsoft.com/window...3.mspx?pf=true Default: 240 Range: 30-300 I contend that the above (second URL) is the correct entry b/c of the following quote which appears in the first URL: “By default, the maximum segment lifetime is defined to be 120 seconds, and the value of this entry is equal twice that, or 4 minutes.” And also this from the second URL: “This is also known as the 2MSL state because the value should be twice the maximum segment lifetime on the network. See RFC 793 for further details.” I checked the RFC and indeed “maximum segment lifetime” is two minutes. Is the real default setting for TCPTimedWaitDelay 240 or 120? If someone could confirm this for me, it would be much appreciated. Best regards, James James |
