Hello,
I am having a problem with a DHCP server. I am very low on available addresses. When I look at the address leases I see alot of missing addresses within the scope. I checked in DNS and do not see the "missing" ip addresses. I cannot ping the addresses either so I don't believe they are statically assigned. Not sure how to resolve this. Thanks, -- James James |

Hello James,
If the addresses are not in the DHCP list they are free for lease, so what is your problem? Addresse are not alwys leased in the correct order from 1,2,3,4,etc. Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > Hello, > > I am having a problem with a DHCP server. The problem is that I have run out of ip addresses a couple of times and have
had to delete some ip addresses from DHCP that are from people that are only in the location temporarily. Otherwise users cannot logon to the network. There are over 25 ip addresses that are not listed in DHCP and are not in DNS. The company is not that big and the 25 or so ip addresses would be all i need for quite a while. -- James "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > Hello James, > > If the addresses are not in the DHCP list they are free for lease, so what > is your problem? Hello James,
How long is your lease time? Lower it down to maybe 12 hours. Then the leases will be deleted if not longer used.
