I've setup IAS and DHCP server. Now there is an appliance which request
authentication to IAS server. I will also provide an IP Address. The authentication works but I cannot provide an ip address from the DHCP scope. Is this possible and how do i have to setup this? The situation: Client connects to the appliance Appliance RADIUS request (and IP address) Radius Reply to appliance (but no IP Address) Client connect bu t hasn't IP address. When I set an ip address in the dialup tab the client get that ip address but it has to be assigned. I Hope somebody could help. Erik van den Brink |

What is the appliance, and how is it connected to your DHCP server?

The clients are GPRS and the appliance used to onnect the clients is unknown.
I will ask Vodafone what they use. There is a VPN tunnel between the appliance and the RADIUS server. My idea was to let RADIUS provide an ip address from the DHCP server with framed IP. I'd be inclined to start with how the Vodafone appliance allocates
addresses, Anthony http://www.airdesk.co.uk "Erik van den Brink" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:192124FB-1B12-47D5-8D6B-(E-Mail Removed)... > The clients are GPRS and the appliance used to onnect the clients is > unknown. > I will ask Vodafone what they use. I don't know what you exactly means, but when I enter an ip Address in the
dial-in tab of the user the client gets that (framed) ip address. But I would like to do it dynamicly. So the appliance does the Radius request and when i send in the answer of that request a ip address then is it wil works. I'm afraid I don't think I can help you. I would expect that to be
configured at the Vodafone appliance end. Erik,
What Anthony is saying is simply that this has nothing to do with IAS. IAS is only concerned with authentication. The remote access device has to look after the IP allocation.
