Default DCHP VLans and Private network.

I am not completely new to DHCP, but it is not something I deal with every
day. I have a complicated issue, and am hoping someone can help;
This is the setup;

x.x.125.128/27----NIC1-----DHCP Server---NIC2----10.4.10.x/24
|
Scope's x.x.125.1/25
Scope's x.x.125.128/27
Scope's x.x.125.160/27
Scope's 10.4.10.1/24

How do I tell the server to hand out addresses in x.x.125.1/27 and
x.x.125.160/27. Will I need relay agents for this?
Also, in the past I have had the DHCP server hand out addresses on the wrong
interface (giving a 10.4.10.x addresses on the x.x125.18/27 NIC1 interface)
Why, and is there a configuration setting I am missing to force the correct
NIC to be used?

Thanks in advance

Default Re: DCHP VLans and Private network.

1. The DHCP Server should have *one* nic and exist on just *one* segment.
They can run with a Nic in each segment but it is needless and pointless and
over complicates things.

2. Create a separate distinct Scope for each segment. No Superscopes!

3. Configure the LAN Router that sits between the segments to forward the
DHCP Queries to the DHCP Server. Some Routers call the "helper addresses"
but terminology will vary. It is the job of the LAN Router to relay DHCP
Queries,...it is not the job of the clients or the DHCP Server.
