Can I run another wireless router from one of the LAN ports of my Dlink
614+? I have a Cat5 connection to the basement, and would like to use another wireless router down there? Will that work? Charles Rubenstein |

Will that work? Yes. Is it a wireless router or access point? If it's a wireless router, then you will want to bypass the router functionality. To do that, don't plug anything into the WAN port. Use a crossover cable to connect the wireless router LAN port to the network. You may also need to disable the DCHP in the wireless router for good measure. If you set up both wireless with the same SSID, you may be able to "roam" between the 2 wireless routers without disconnecting. -- Disclaimer: This post is solely an individual opinion and does not speak on behalf of any organization. |
