Hi,
for some reason, we need to shutdown all servers and then bring them up. Naturlly, the DC that holds all FSMO roles and DNS/DHCP is the one to boot up first. However, when this server is booting up, it stayed at "preparing network connections ..." for about 10 minutes. Is this normal or an indication of some thing wrong? thanks in advance! tree leafs |

This sounds like a classic issue where you may have your ISp's DNS address in IP properties, and/or it's multihomed, and/or the AD domain name may be a single label name ("domain" vs the required format of "domain.com"). To eliminate guesswork on our part, it would be helpful to obtain configuration information of your DC. To better assist, please post an UNEDITED ipconfig /all of your DC and state the AD DNS domain name, as well if updates are allowed in the zone's properties in DNS. -- Regards, Ace This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
