big time to start for a dc

hello

i have on my site 3 DC who are DNS servers too:
1 DC 2003 OCASRV5
2 DC 2000 OCASRV2 and OCASRV04

since a lot of months i have OCASRV2 (the first who whas installed on the
domain), who have problem to replicate with others DC

So i see that he was "blacklisted" for replication, because he doesn't answers

I try to repair, but the only solution is to retrograte the server as a
server member, i does'nt want
:-)
so i'm olbliged to force it, but i haven't time for that in the moment, so
i do that :

I transfert all roles on the DC 2003
I made the DC2003 and the other DC2000 global catalog
I modifiy the dns server so the clients see only the DC2003 and the other
DC2000
I remove DNS on the DC2000 who make me problems
I modify site and services so that OCASRV2 doesn't have connections whith
others DC on all my sites

but i think he make me always trouble because when i restart OCASRV04 and
OCASRV5, if OCASRV2 is on line the time for the restart for the DC2003 is 10
mn
if he is off line the time is 20 mn ....

have you an idee about that ?

Hello,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, I am not sure if you have demoted the DC OCASRV2
successfully. I suggest you first run dcdiag /v & netdiag on the other two
DCs to see if you receive any error messages.

2) i make a mistake I have 1 DC2000 and 2 DC2003 (but not important)

3) after your mail meinolf i see something that is probably wrong on my

If Ocasrv2 is no DNS server also remve him from his own secondary DNS list.
Also run dcdiag /v and netdiag /v and post the complete results here, like
Ken Zhao mentioned.
