Hi,
Any ideas on how to resolve the following would be greatly appreciated: On a Windows 2003 server, we setup a share. From the server itself, as well as from the other servers on the network, we can easily access the share as \\<server>\<share> However, when we try to access the share using the server's FQDN on the server itself (Using Start-Run-<share>), Win2003 requests a userid/password (And it does not accept a valid userid/password combination). When trying to do so from other servers, an error message stating that the share is inaccessible is displayed. So, \\<server>\<share> works, but \\<server>.<X>.com\<share> does not. nslookup, ping, etc.. indicate no problems with the FQDN. The server's IP address is the same with and without the FQDN. This happens both with a local account as well as a network account. Thanks, DF basis_consultant@hotmail.com |
