How many DHCP client machines are there?
How about create the Scope(s) on the new DHCP and fully configure them,...but do not authorize/activate the DHCP yet. Come in at night when no one is there. Power off all the DHCP clients are are still left running. You only have to mess with the DHCP clients,...the others are irrelevant. Shutdown the Novell DHCP, disable the DHCP Service if you have to and never start it back up. Authorize/Active the DHCP on the new DHCP Service. Power up the DHCP Clients that "need" to be powered up. Leave the rest for the users to power up themselves when they come in. They will rty to find the old DHCP and will fail. They will then broadcast a query to the first DHCP that will reply,...which will be the new one. They will receive a new config from it. -- Phillip Windell www.wandtv.com The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- "kjs" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:4A4ACE2E-DEE5-43DB-8442-(E-Mail Removed)... > is there a tool that will migrate a netware dhcp database to windows 2003 > dhcp? |

That does sound good but I have 100 scopes to config and it would save me
time typing if I migrated the database from netware to w2k+3. It should be one Scope per subnet. You have 100 subnets? -- Phillip Windell www.wandtv.com The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- |
