Giving the board a kick up the backside would perhaps be more appropriate.

Excellent, is that to go with their toolkit, or are they going to offer to
sell them to customers as a solution to fix their broadband!

I'm so glad I left NTL all those years ago.

How in sainted god's name is this going to help Virgin's engineers fix
their problems ?

I reckon they'll just go 'scramblin' !

Surely these are network resource issues, coupled with the fact that
their marketing campaigns have outsold their available resources.

How is purchasing motorbikes going to resolve this ?

Madness..

Yep - probably another Branson "bright idea".
Increase visibility of the brand and suck in more punters. "Ooh look - a
nice big red, shiny Virgin motorbike - must sign up for their broadband!"
Virgin is, when it comes down to it, just a clever marketing idea.
Sell the Virgin brand to other firms, to "improve" the other firm's image
and that's about it really. Underneath, it's the same old, same old...

George

How welcome will a seriously wet 'engineer' be in the customer's home on those
really rainy days ?

I do wish they'd stop calling technicians engineers too.

Agreed. A trick at work was to give an electronics 'engineer' a hacksaw
with the blade in upside down then see how much heat would be generated (in
the ee, not the blade).

Don't be fooled. They don't have money for vehicles for service engineers
probably. They certainly don't have money for outgoing pipes any more.
