Default Changing Netgear DG834PN default username?

Every router I've owned has let me change the access name from the default
of "admin" to one of my own choosing.

I'm going crosseyed looking at the manual for instructions to change this
for my new Netgear one but there doesn't seem to be an option to change
this. (I've changed the password). Dunno why I'm worrying but it seems odd
that this first step in the security ladder seems to be missing.

Doesn't look like it's possible, but security through obscurity isn't
really secure anyway - imagine Linux without a root account. :-)

If I wanted to do that I would try by first doing a backup of its settings
to my computer, then editing the user name in the .cfg file and then doing
a restore of the changed settings.

I just checked mine and can't see how to change the login name, just the
password. It does seem to check the name though, it wasn't happy with
b*ll*cks :-)
