I have an IBM R50e laptop which has a Centrino chipset. I have a Netgear
WN802T WAP, which has just been replaced under warranty. The laptop was always slow to connect to the WAP (the SSID is hidden and I use WPA TKIP security) and it's just as bad with the replacement. I am using the latest Intel drivers I can find, and whether I allow Windows to manage the wireless network or use the Intel utility it can take 20 minutes or so to get connected. What is particularly annoying is that NetStumbler has recognised the wireless network by the time it opens up on my desktop, perhaps they should write some drivers! Any thoughts/ideas to improve the situation? Wireless is convenient or I'd go for Homeplug. There is another wireless network within range but that uses channel 11 and I use channel 1 to try and avoid interference. -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK There are 10 types of people in the world, those who do binary and those who don't.
