I have two Windows 2003 Servers setup in a network load balanced setup for
http and https. I set this systems up according to the standards I have found online and recommendations from an external company, but I have noticed that copying files to or from this system is incredibly slow. Each system is a Dell PowerEdge 1950 server with two Broadcomm 57xx NICs onboard: System 1 NIC 1 - 10.251.1.181 255.255.0.0 10.251.1.254 NIC 2 - 10.100.1.1 255.255.255.252 no default gateway System 2 NIC 1 - 10.251.1.182 255.255.0.0 10.251.1.254 NIC 2 - 10.100.1.2 255.255.255.252 no defalut gateway Load Balanced Address for http/https - 10.251.1.180, 255.255.0.0, 10.251.1.254 Each NIC 1 is plugged into the main switch, each nic 2 is connected to the other nic 2 via cross over connection. Apparently this is to provide access between the two systems. The switches are 1 GBPS switches and each NIC shows connected at 1 Gbps. To give you an idea on the speeds, I am trying to copy the service pack 2 for 2003 from a system on the same switch and it is taking over an hour. To a non nlb server connected to the same switch, less than two minutes. Has anyone seen this before? Jason Carter |
