Default Virgin - downgrading to dialup while travelling? - Alex Brown pleaseadvise?

Hi anyone.

I look after a friend's internet etc. He has a Virgin BB account at present.
He is going to be travelling the UK for some time and so not using his
Virgin BB at home.
Is it possible to 'downgrade' his account back to dial-up so he can
connect at various places and not loose his e-mail addresses etc (such a
pain to tell banks etc etc of new address)
Also do Virgin give out a MAC code in this circumstance as possibly the
guy using his flat meanwhile may want to use a different ISP if he has
an account elsewhere and similarly wants to keep his e-mail?

I will try sending this to CS as well but you know what they are like!!

Mike

Hi Mike,

By referring to a MAC code I'm presuming you're saying he's an ADSL
customer rather than a cable one as the MAC process doesn't apply to
cable.

TBH he'd be best speaking to the customer care team on 150 from a
Virgin Phoneline as I'm not that familiar with the DSL side of the
business - but do have some contacts if he gets stuck.

If you do get stuck and want help, best to drop me an e-mail.

Cheers

Alex
