you need to replace these. MS officially discontinued these products
a loooong time ago and the chipset is from PRISM who also left the
business.

I know this is an old post, but hopefully if there are still any
MS Networking Hardware users out there this summary will be useful.

While helping a some friends configure their old NM-510 for a new
desktop, I found a post by drcliffs on Tom's Hardware with this link:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=33104

That let me download a file named "MSBNSoftware.exe". I ran the
EXE and it installed itself in "C:\MSBNSoftware". Had to run the "C:
\MSBNSoftware\setup.exe" a few times as I kept getting failures when I
got to the point where I needed to enter the WEP key. I even tried to
turn off security on the wireless router (a MS MN-500) and that still
didn't work. I guess it might have something to do with privileges in
Vista, so I went into "Network and Sharing Center" and was able to the
connect to the (at that point) open wireless network. I turned
security back on for the network and then went back into "Network and
Sharing" and input the WEP key. Finally, one more reboot and it
DHCPed and I was on the network.

Sorry if these directions are confusing, I am a Mac person and
haven't had to do much Vista troubleshooting. The summary is that it
does work in Vista (Home Premium).

Just be aware that WEP is unsafe. You may want to replace your
equipment if it does not support WPA2 or at least WPA with something
newer.

how about locating a driver for the MN-510 for Win XP? I now need to go
wireless again on my new computer, and I have my MN-510 adapter, but I can't
find the disc, so therefore it will not work and detect my wireless signal.
Where are the old drivers located on the MS site? I searched everywhere but
could not find them. Even if it's no longer supported, the old drivers should
still be made available for people.
