Swapped last week from an older v1 Netgear DG834G on Plusnet over to Sky
Broadband with their bundled DG834GT router. Quite happy so far in that I get a faster speed with the new router and Sky than I did with Plusnet (something like 3000mbps down, 448 up with Plusnet compared to 4768 down and 768 up with Sky and the DG834GT - is this simply down to different/better equipment in the exchange? ie. easynet as opposed to BT I assume?) However, this morning, everything had turned to treacle - download speeds were in the bytes per second area. I managed to log into the router and this all looked normal. Once I had rebooted the router everything is back to normal. I didn't have to do this with the DG834G so is this a known firmware or other issue with Sky and/or the DG834GT ? ie. things go very slow after a few days. I must admit it appears to have been solid since I set it up last Wednesday so its been running for a good few days with me not touching it. Andy Andy Pandy |

i use an 834gt with no problems (except latest firmware), sounds like yours
is buggered. you could get your username/password from the router (google sky router password for info on how) and use the 834g until sky send you a new one. |

If you search google you will find a simple programme that will extract the username and password from your sky supplied router, use that in your old router, and see what happens. Gaz |
