Well, another year has past, so it's time to ask my annual question: What
are my options for getting greater than 100Mbps networking on a notebook computer? The computer in question is running WinXP Pro, and has 2 CardBus ports and a single USB 1.1 port. There is no docking station which might be used to add PCI cards. Given this hardware, there are really only 2 possible solutions. Either locate a Gigabit NIC in a PCCard form-factor, or team/bond 2 (CardBus) 100Mbps NICs into a single logical device. Any advice on this? Thanks. -- Please respond to the group, not by e-mail. What's the througput rate for CardBus? Your limit may be there, not with the
NICs. |
