Hi All, I have a Win MCE main box, a WinXP Home Games box, a Laptop running X home and a Linksys WAG354G Home ADSL gateway which is connected to m broadband. The WinXP Home games box and the Win MCE are hard wired to the 354G an the laptop connects wirelessly to it when needed. Due to the construction of my home, the wireless signal is very wea unless the Laptop is in the same room of an adjoining one. There is n wireless signal in any other rooms. What I want to know, is I also have a Linksys WRT54GS which is no being used at the moment. Can I use this as a wireless access poin upstairs, and hard wire it to the WAG354G using ethernet so that I ca get a better wireless coverage. I already have the cables installe upsairs. If I can how do I get the WRT54GS to see the internet 'through' th WAG354G? so that the laptop can connect from anywhere in the house? Also, I was thinking of adding an Ubuntu server into the network to us as a web hosting PC and file server, ow hard world that be to set up. Lots of questions I know, but thanks for you help. That will work fine, I have done it here to get my WAP upstairs. Ignore the modem/phone connection on the WRT54GS and use it as a 'dumb switch' connected to the WAG354G via ethernet cable. Turn off the WAP on the WAG354G so they don't clash, make sure they are not both trying to dish out IP addresses as well - turn off DHCP on one of them, probably the WRT54GS. Use the IP address of the WAG354G as DNS and default gateway and you should be fine. -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK There are 10 types of people in the world, those who do binary and those who don't. |

Hi Stuart, Don't want to sound too dumb, but what are the 'credentials' that need to set the same? Thanks CA -- CadmannUK |
