One of the machines on my local network (win98) dosent have the network neighbourhood icon, interestingly enough I can access the shared drive on this machine from any other machine on my network and it is also able to surf the net without a problem but still no network neighbourhood. This has been a constant issue with this machine for no apparent reason and although it can access the internet through the network which is all I want it to do able to do it still has my curiosity as to why there is no network neighbourhood and why it cant locate other computers on the network. Even if it is, check it off and set it, check it on and set it, maybe it'll come back. If you don't, then install it. Here's a link: TweakUI 1.33 (http://download.com.com/redir?pid=28...19&edId=3&s i teId=4&oId=3000-2341-2830963&ontId=2341<ype=dl_dlnow&lop=link&destUrl =%2F3 001-2341-2830963.html) |

I can't believe I'm replying to a Win98 question - been a while - but if I recall, the Net neighborhood icon gets installed when you install either Microsoft Networking or Dial-up Networking, but I don't remember which. So, if you blow away MS Networking and reinstall it, you should get your icon back.
