After Belkin software installation Belkin worked at the start but the next
day it did not. I couldn't start Belkin Wireless Monitor and couldn't connect to my WLAN router. I deinstalled the Belkin software and later reinstalled it, but still can't run it. As a side effect my Windows ME was damaged and I can`t reinstall or repair it because the software doesn't let me. For example, Windows Me shows after booting this error message: "activePG.sdk missing". Norton utilities couldn't fix the problem neither scandisc. =?Utf-8?B?Y2hpbGk=?= |

Have you tried using System Restore? > and I can`t > reinstall or repair it because the software doesn't let me. What software? The operating system? What error messages are you seeing? > For example, Windows Me shows after booting this error message: > "activePG.sdk missing". activePG.sdk is not part of the operating system but rather part of something you have installed, maybe the Belkin software. Interestingly most references to this file that I can find using Google and Google Groups are from German posters which may or may not be relevant in your case. > Norton utilities couldn't fix the problem neither scandisc. Your problem could quite well be the result of running Norton Futilities and other Symantec software on your system, little if any of which is compatible with the Win Me operating system. -- Mike Maltby (E-Mail Removed) chili <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: > After Belkin software installation Belkin worked at the start but the > next day it did not. > I couldn't start Belkin Wireless Monitor and couldn't connect to my > WLAN router. > > I deinstalled the Belkin software and later reinstalled it, but still > can't run it. Hello Mike,
thanx for your reply. There is still trouble but different from that from the beginning: My computer dealer gave me a new USB stick. After installation everything worked fine. I could access web pages and my mailbox. Now the Belkin app indicates that signal strength and linking to the router are still ok, but I can‘t access neither web pages nor mailbox. Strange thing, what happened? I didn‘t change anything. > Have you tried using System Restore? > What software? The operating system? What error messages are you seeing? I tried the System Restore. It told me something like: there is no earlier status safed, so I cannot restore. > Your problem could quite well be the result of running Norton Futilities > and other Symantec software on your system, little if any of which is > compatible with the Win Me operating system. > -- Maybe. I suspect that the trouble doesn‘t come from the Belkin app itself too. But I‘ve no idea, what to do next. |
