Hi, I have 2 computers, one using Windows Me and the other using Windows XP.
I'm using cable to connect to internet with DHCP. I need to release the IP address from one computer if I want to connect to internet to another one. In my Windows XP computer, there is no problem on releasing IP address. However in my Windows Me computer, it hangs when releasing IP address. The most recent update was installed. Firewall is disabled. Everytime when releasing ip address by Winipcfg or command line ipconfig, both of them hangs my computer. I have another problem is when the network cable was unpluged from my Windows Me computer and pluged in again immediately, I can't connect to internet anymore. Even if the IP address is a vaild address, the connectivity losses everytime after unplug and replug the cable. Using the Winipcfg to renew IP address will display an error like that "DHCP server:unable to renew adapter". I need to restart my computer to reconnect to internet. The IP address after restarted is same as before, but I don't know what is the problem. Any ideas? =?Utf-8?B?YWt1bWE=?= |
