Please keep out the OT crap! I had to start a new thread because some
jerks decided to post irrelevant nonsense.

Who said anything about 44Kbit/sec?

The bit-rate of my WMA CBR is 20Kbit/sec or less.

Okay.

Yes it is possible and it is compression. The uncompressed audio is a
monaural linear PCM at 44.1-KHz-sample-rate with a 16-bit-resolution
-- this audio has a bit-rate of 705.6 kbps. The compressed audio is a
monaural CBR WMA at 44.1-KHz-sample-rate with a bit-rate of 20 kbps or
less.

Where/when is there any change in sample-rate?????????

There is definitely a change in bit-rate. However, that is totally
different from the sample-rate. Totally.

BIT-rate and SAMPLE-rate are two completely different things.

In linear PCM audio:

BIT-rate = SAMPLE-rate X bit-resolution X number of channels

Stereo has two channels. Mono has one channel.

44,100 Hz X 16-bit X 1 channel = 705,600 bps

Relevance in in the Mind of the Poster.

Right now since the 'topic' is CellPhones - I makes me wonder
what kind of Cellphone and Service Provider others here may
have . . .

OK starting with me :
I have a Motorla RAZR V3 via AT&T {Cingular} Wireless
and I do not want any changes to the Cellphone
Broadcasting System [.]

Keep Posting Your Scientific and Cellphone BS to
Rec.Radio.Shortwave and you will see replying to
it with what ever comes into my mind and inviting
others hear to do the same.

However, leave Rec.Radio.Shortwave "Off" your
Cross-Posting List and you won't have to deal
with me. Now woldn't that be nice.

Say Cuhulin do you have a CellPhone ?

David I know you must have a Cellphone.

Bet-Ya Telamon has a Cellphone.

Wondering -if- DX Ace has a Cellphone ?

Burr way over in the PI - you got a Cellphone over there ?

Hey Back At You "Radium" Wondering . . .
You Gotta Cellphone and who is your Service Provider ?

IF YOU GOT A CELLPHONE LET RADIUM HEAR ABOUT IT !

Verizon here RHF. I wouldn't have gotten a cell phone but I got this
new job over at Harris. (And just the keep this post legal, Harris
makes shortwave radios. Heheh.) So I'm working in Rochester, NY and
Wife is in Ma so I had to get a cell phone to keep in communication.
Hey, don't cell phones use tiny waves. I guess this stuff should
really be posted to rec.radio.tinywave, but that keeps bouncing.
Anyway, so there ya go, I like Verizon just fine. A really nice
polite bunch of peeps over there and very helpful if you get the
chance to call them. I give em a two thumbs up.

Radium Writes in Google Groups Guide :
Will someone please find the physical out where
google groups is located and fill their rooms with
flies, mosquitos, ants, pollen, feces, and other
irritants?
Then google groups will know how I feel.

Since Radium is an ignorant idiot, he has no clue what group would

JP - Actually Radium may be an http://www.wisconsinmedicalsociety.org/savant_syndrome/
"Island of Genius" unto himself ~ RHF
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savant_Syndrome

But it does seem that : Rec.Radio.Shortwave and
Rec.Radio.Amateur.Antenna are a bit 'off' for a
Proposal to Change the Digital Cellphone World
kind of question that Radium posed.

While had he stuck to : Sci.Electronics.Basics,
Alt.Cellular.Cingular, and Alt.Internet.Wireless
He would not be hearing {reading} any of this
back chatter now.

If Radium could only understand that :
* Rec.Radio.Shortwave is about Shortwave Radio
and Shortwave Radio Listening (SWL) including
Radios, Receivers and related SWL Equipment
like Receiving Antennas and Feed-in-Lines for
the SWLer.
* Rec.Radio.Amateur.Antenna is about Antennas
for Amatueur {Ham} Radio use : Theory, Design
and practical application of Transmitting and
Receiving for the Amateur Radio Service.

Clearly Radium's Re-Inventing the Cellphone
Transmission {Delivery} System is a stretch
beyond the normal focus of these two groups.

Listening to 7505 kHz right now at 2:28 UTC
