Default networking problem

Hi All,

I am using windows xp home sr2. I am having a problem networking my
computers. I have a dsl modem/router. My main computer is connected with
an ethernet card. My laptop and my wife's computer are wireless. When I
try to ping the laptop I get a timed out message. I can ping from the
laptop to the desktop. The laptop doesn't see the main computer and the
desktop doesn't see the laptop. I used the network setup wizard and the
wireless setup wizard on the respective machines. I have Mcafee personal
firewall on each machine. I turned them off but, still with no luck. Can
anyone help me get this figured out? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Default Re: networking problem

First, don't disable third-party firewalls; uninstall them. Disabling them
rarely works correctly.

Second, find and use the Windows XP networking forums, since networking in
WindowsMe works much differently than in Windows XP.
