Can anyone tell me how the SNMP service can be configured through a script?
We are in the process of changing our IP Addressing and will be shortly changing the addresses of our management servers. I need to configure about 200 servers to accept snmp packets from the new addresses and send traps to the new address. I dont want to have to connect to each server and configure manually Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Kevin Gray Kevin Gray |

Not certain, but you may be able to accomplish this with Windows PowerShell: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...l/default.mspx |

Thanks Mike
Unfortunatley power shell only supports Server 2003 and about half of our servers are still running 2000 server. Also I've had a quick look and it looks like you can only modify the basic settings of a service with it but will do more digging. Hopefully it can do more which will help with a chunk of the servers Cheers, Kevin -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ "Mike Lowery" wrote: > > "Kevin Gray" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message > news:2BD10DBD-B3EC-48CD-A983-(E-Mail Removed)... > > Can anyone tell me how the SNMP service can be configured through a script? > > > > We are in the process of changing our IP Addressing and will be shortly > > changing the addresses of our management servers. Hi Kevin,
Any luck yet? I am trying to do the same thing at the moment. Luckily I am dealing with W2K3 only though am trying to find a nice way via scripting to do this. Thanks, Simon "Kevin Gray" wrote: > Thanks Mike > > Unfortunatley power shell only supports Server 2003 and about half of our > servers are still running 2000 server. > > Also I've had a quick look and it looks like you can only modify the basic > settings of a service with it but will do more digging.
