Default Configure the Routing and Remote Access Server

Greetings,

I am new to admin Win2K3 Server SBS. I am trying to Configure the Routing
and Remote Access Server so that i can create the VPN connection. Every time
i run the wizard, i get a message box telling me to setup the DHCP Relay
Agent with the appropriate DHCP server address, which I did. Once this is
done, all the clients lose connection to the Internet until I disable routing
and remote access. I have 2 NICS 192.168.1.11 (DHCP) and 192.168.1.12(want to
be VPN). Website and MS Exchange are directed from the router to 192.168.1.11

Anybody know what i might be missing. (My head hurts from the wall.)

Thx,

JWest

You should not assign the same IP range on the 2nd NIC. Actually, you don't need two NICs for the VPN. This search result may help,

I'm not sure that I was clear about the server. There is only one server WIN
2K3 SBS with DHCP, Exchange Server, website and LAN access all on the single
NIC. If I point the VPN to the same NIC, will it interfere with the Exchange
Server or the website or internet access by the LAN?

Default Re: Configure the Routing and Remote Access Server

I finally got the VPN connection to work!!!

Here is what I found, hope it helps others.

I was trying to use the wizard inside the Routing And Remote Access to
Configure the VPN. I tried even the suggestions from Robert to no avail (no
offense Robert). Finally, I found, in the Server Management Console under
Internet and Email, a button that said "Enable Remote Access". It took me
through a little wizard, about 3 screens, and made the VPN connection. Super
Simple.

I went around and checked my clients and everything was OK there. I
connected from my house and connection is OK.

I am not sure what the difference was, although the wizard did not include
everything that was in the wizard inside the RRAS console.

By the way, all this was done on a single NIC.
