Hi,
Has anyone else been having problem with webspace using Tiscali? I activated my webspace via their website on 6th June 2007 and duly uploaded my files using WSFTP, these files appear on the right hand side of the screen as being on their server, but when trying to look at the site online using a broswer I encounter a 403 error "The Website delclined to show the webpage". I have contact Tiscali technical support on numerous occasions by telephone and e-mail but just seem to be going round in circles. I have been sent from pillar to post by their team and the email I got this moring had the nerve to suggest I download a proper ftp program. I should add that I have have sucessfuly uploaded said site to BT Internet via dial-up and it works fine, first time. I have tried explainig this to Tiscali but they cannot seem to grasp the concept. Can anyone help please? Thanks Pete Peter Parker |

I don't think an index.htm will work. Can you successfully point your browser at an individual file like http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sitename/filename.jpg or http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sitename/filename.htm(l) tip: Keep all filenames including extentions lower case. I can't think of anything else just now. If you don't mind publishing the URL I will take a look. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Not a lot of help with your problem with Tiscali, but then that's the nature of the beast . (I am actually hosting the site on belhalf of a collegue who is with $ky broadband - hence no webspace). You got case sensitivity on the Tiscali site http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/astratv/Index.html works. Best to make all file names all lower case. -- Regards, Paul Herber, Sandrila Ltd. http://www.sandrila.co.uk/ |

It may be that they are using windows servers and Tiscali are using unix. |
