Default Sky Broadband Email (smtp) Question?

This will more than likely be my last question about Sky Broadband, well
prior to switching from Tiscali anyway!

Like I have already said in a previous post, I have got my own .com domain
name with Fasthosts.

Now the email set up with them, is as follows:

POP3 mail server is supplied via Fasthosts, using my domain:

mail.mydomainname.com (for example).

However the SMTP mail server is set using the SMTP server of your/my ISP:

So in my current case that is Tiscali using:

smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Now for the question, I know from reading many posts in here that the Sky
Broadband email is, shall we say "flakey" at the very least.

But how is the SMTP mail server, will I still be able to set up my email
addresses in the same way using:

smtp.sky.com (or what ever?)

More importantly will it work?

Many Thanks in advance & Best Wishes to one & all,

Gaz.

PS/BTW: depending on answers I may have the pleasure in calling Tiscali and
requesting my MAC! ;-)

I have yet to have a problem with outgoing mail using smtp.sky.com alongside
my incoming domain name.
