Default WinME and Domain logon

We were installing the DSClient onto a number of similarly configured PC's
to try to resolve an intermittant logon issue to a W2003 Domain controller.
Did 5 of the 6 PCs at the clients site and on the last one hit troubles.
The DSclient installed without error and we then rebooted. Since then it's
not come up with the normal 3 section login box for a domain login. It will
only give the normal username and password box (without any domain section).
I've tried all kinds of things to resolve it including removal of the
DSClient, stripping out the networking and removing the NIC from the config
and letting it rebuild, searching for autologon keys, deleting all the PWL
files. All to no avail.

Any ideas before I format the box and start again?
