Hello all, I recently added my XP pro pc to a domain and can no longer access my original folders e.g. Documents amd
Settings\Myuserid\..., if I try to browse them I receive an "Access is Denied" message, the only way I can access them is by making myself a member of the Admnistrators group which is not what I want, is this normal ? if so how can I work around this ? Pete Kane |

Temporarily make yourself an administrator and take ownership - then move the items you wish out to your new profile folder. Then remove your admin rights. |

You'll need to logon as an administrator of the local machine
or a member of the "domain admin" but you can change the permissions to allow your regular "domain account" access to the folder. You can do this remotely with a domain admin account as well. Take ownership of the files with an administrator account and set
permissions and ownership of the files the the regular domain user account that you want to access those files/folders with.
