Default VPN Troubles on XP and Vista Machines?

I have an NT Domain ( smirk ), with a 2000 Server handling VPN
access. VPN works for most clients just fine. On my VISTA laptop,
through a wireless connection, and at least one other XP laptop (wired
and wireless), I can ping by name just fine, and can even remote
control VIA VNC. However, I cannot browse at all. Either through a
run command \\server\share or by mapping a drive!!

Sometimes when I try to access a file share, it comes back and asks me
for my username and password until I'm locked out, or it comes back
and says "The referenced account is locked out..."

What gives? Any ideas. Again, it's not on all clients. I've tried
on at least 3 other wired clients and no problems.

I also just tried hard-wiring my laptop, and it did not work. I can
still ping by name, remote control servers via VNC, but I can't browse
\\server\share\ or map a network drive by IP address or By name.
