Hi,
I have got Windows 2003 with DHCP server configured with ip 192.168.0.1, and assigns well IP 192.168.0.2 to my laptop (ad-hoc wireless LAN), when I restart my computer or restart DHCP server service. The problem is when laptop loss the connection. it cant recover the IP, and command "ipconfig /renew" say that DHCP server is unavailable. Them, if I restart DHCP server service or restart computer, my laptop obtain the IP Anybody know why occur this or have the same problem?,bye kubadis |

See if the same thing is happening with any other workstations/clients. See whether it happens when you're using wired Ethernet, if you can test that. If this doesn't help, post back with event log info....and personally, unless this is a home server, I'd invest in a cheap & cheerful (but WPA-capable) wireless access point (or WAP + router). |

Is possible that client is the problem but I don´t know what happen ;..(.
I need a freaky that test DHCP in Ad-hoc wireless LAN. If is posible with windows 2003. Run computer with windows 2003, start up DHCP server, and then, start up laptop and see if get IP from DHCP or not. Then make laptop loss signal in order that recover signal and IP. thanks.
