Default Windows Updates. Please read question...

I have a windows 2003 server with 200 users/pc's. 90% of the users are only
power users. I would like to see if there is a way to push out windows
updates to all users on the network during the night. There are XP and Win2K
pc's on my network.

Don, you can do the following.

Install a WSUS on a server in your internal network

Create a GPO with the following configuration:

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components
> Windows Update:

Configure Automatic Updates - Enabled:
Configure
automatic updating - 4 Auto download and Schedulle the install select
the best time to do so. I suggest Everyday @ 00:00

Specify Intranet Microsoft Update service Location - Put the name of
your server in both fields

All you have to do is tell users to log off and leave the computer on
during the night.

PC's running Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 and Windows XP with no
Service Pack need to install the Windows Update Client. The client is
included with Windows 2000 SP3 and above and Windows XP SP1 and above).
