We were trying to connect another PC to our network the other day but
without any joy (cable connection). After a bit, I emembered that I had MAC filtering set up in my router/modem so I went through the web interface to the MAC filtering section. Every time I tried to access that section the browser would freeze and after that, I couldn't access any other parts of the router set-up. If I went to any other section first, I could access those parts with no trouble. Each time I had to reset the router (a soft reset) to restore access to the router. During all this, Internet access was unaffected, it was just the router that I couldn't access. After faffing around for ages, I took the plunge and did a hard reset. After the reset, I restored my setting that I'd backed up only to find that nothing had changed. :-( Any suggestions what to try next? A hard reset *without* restoring my old settings just in case they're corrupted somehow? Tim Tim Downie |
