Default Difficulty in setting up wireless modem

I have set up my wireless router (Linksys) with same settings as
my original broadband modem; PPPOE; LLC; 8 35;CBR ... however , the
modem doesn't
connect - it shows "interface down" on the status page; the DSL LED
on the router is green; Any idea why the connection is failing? When
I
plug back in my original Zyxel standard router I can connect in OK.

What settings does your service provider require? In the UK I would
expect PPPoA VC-Mux 0,38 unless you are on an LLU-based product such as
BeThere, perhaps?

Maybe double check your login and password entries?

Ronnie appears to have the right settings for his BT Broadband in Ireland:

In Ireland it's:

Encapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
Multiplexing: LLC-based
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
